Marabu to pause growth at Cologne/Bonn and Stuttgart airports

Marabu Airlines has decided to pause its planned growth at Cologne/Bonn and Stuttgart airports, opting not to place additional aircraft there while continuing operations at both locations.

The airline will instead base three aircraft at Leipzig/Halle for the 2025 high season and will add a new A320-200N at Nuremberg to meet high demand for flights to Mediterranean destinations.

These adjustments are a response to limited availability of wet-leased aircraft and increasing operational costs in Germany, which are significantly higher than many other European countries.

Despite plans to expand its fleet in the long term, Marabu has acknowledged that current conditions necessitated a reevaluation of its flight schedule, mirroring decisions made by other airlines in the region.
