China Airlines has announced plans to acquire a combination of new-generation widebody aircraft, including ten A350-1000s, ten B777-9s, and four B777-8Fs, with deliveries expected to begin in 2029.

The total deal is valued at up to USD 11.9bn, with individual aircraft prices listed for the A350, B777-9, and B777-8F, reflecting the airline’s investment in its fleet modernization.

The A350s will feature Rolls-Royce Trent XWB-97 engines, and the B777s will have General Electric GE9X engines, both equipped with three-class cabin configurations, though seat counts have not been disclosed.

Additionally, the four B777-8Fs will enhance the freighter fleet, which currently includes various models, as the airline transitions away from older B747-400Fs towards the more modern B777 freighters.
