Belfast City Airport reopens after Emerald nose wheel incident

The runway at Belfast City Airport has reopened after Emerald nose wheel incident on 22 December and is operating as normal. 

Two flights, from London City and Leeds Bradford, were diverted to Belfast International Airport. 

A statement from the airport advises impacted passengers or those due to travel today should check the status of their flight with the airline: At around 16:00 yesterday, Sunday 22 December, a flight operated by Emerald Airlines had an incident on landing at Belfast City Airport. This was a positioning fight with no passengers but 4 crew members onboard. The airport’s emergency procedures were enacted.

Friday was the busiest day of the season at Belfast City airport.
