Armando Brunini, the President and CEO of SEA Milan Airports, has called for a fully integrated testing and certification system for aviation security and enhanced EU support for airport security initiatives.
At the ACI EUROPE New Year reception in Brussels, Brunini called for strategies that balance emission reductions with the need to maintain air connectivity, particularly emphasizing the role of regional airports in Europe’s economy.
He said the dialogue also stressed the necessity for reforms to airport slots regulations to address capacity issues and ensure the effectiveness of the Single Aviation Market.
He said: “More than ever, Europe finds itself at a crossroads, facing critical tests to its global position and leadership, both politically and economically,” said Brunini “The new era demands courage, vision, and unity from all of us, including our policymakers and regulators. We cannot face these unprecedented challenges with yesterday’s textbooks. This is particularly true for aviation.”
