Ryanair has commenced construction of a new €40m aircraft maintenance facility at Dublin Airport, announced on January 29, 2025, with plans to create over 200 skilled jobs for engineers and mechanics.

The new 120,000 square foot hangar will support the maintenance of Ryanair’s expanding fleet, including the 737-8200 “Gamechanger” aircraft that feature enhanced passenger capacity and reduced emissions.

The facility is designed to be one of the most environmentally efficient hangars in the EU, incorporating gas absorption heat pumps to decrease energy consumption by up to 35pc.

Ryanair COO Neal McMahon highlighted the investment as a significant expansion of the airline’s operations at Dublin and an exciting opportunity for engineers and mechanics interested in joining Europe’s largest operator of Boeing 737s.
