Riyadh Air is reportedly preparing to place an order for up to 50 widebody aircraft from Airbus and Boeing, including the A350-1000 and B777X models, as stated by Bloomberg.
The airline is looking to acquire aircraft with a capacity of over 300 passengers and aims to finalize this order soon to secure production slots.
This potential order marks Riyadh Air’s third aircraft acquisition, following a March 2023 order for 39 B787-9s and a previous order for 60 A321-200Ns.
Riyadh Air plans to begin operations in the third quarter of 2025 but has not yet obtained its air operator’s certificate from Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Civil Aviation.
