Jet2 plans to wet-lease additional capacity for the IATA northern summer season due to production delays at Airbus, as announced on February 19, 2025.
The airline expects to receive 14 new A321-200NX aircraft, increasing its A321neo fleet to 23 units by the end of Summer 2025.
Delayed aircraft deliveries are anticipated to incur extra operational costs for the peak summer schedule.
Jet2 has previously wet-leased aircraft from carriers such as Croatia’s ETF Airways and UK’s Titan Airways, though it has not disclosed future leasing plans.
The airline has a total of 134 unfilled A321neo orders with Airbus, aimed at replacing its ageing fleet of B737-300s and B737-800s.
