
A man was arrested following an Incident in Terminal 1 at Dublin Airport yesterday morning. Ryanair baggage measuring stand was thrown across the floor.
A 29-year-old man, Lukas Kaunietis, of no fixed abode, was arrested in the airport’s Terminal 1 building following incidents at the Tap and Brew bar and at Gate 107 in the terminal building.
He appeared before Dublin District Court and was remanded in custody to appear again before Cloverhill District Court on Friday.
Videos and photos sourced online show the moments when a man started damaging Gate 107 on Pier 1 in a fit of rage after reportedly missing his flight to Memmingen.
The incident took place today at approximately 07:20am. Following a few minutes of disruption, Airport police arrived and arrested the man. Gate 107 was out of service for part of the morning.
Dublin airport shared: Airport Police at Dublin Airport responded to an incident in Terminal 1 this morning which resulted in a male individual being arrested. The passenger missed his flight and proceeded to cause significant damage to our airport. The individual was quickly apprehended by Airport Police before being subsequently arrested by An Garda Síochána and is scheduled to appear in court later today. We hope the justice system deals with him appropriately and also that we never see him at Dublin Airport again.
