
Aegean Airlines plans to increase its stake in Volotea from 13pc to 21pc, with a decision expected by June or July 2025.
The airline has invested EUR31 million in Volotea, with an additional EUR25 million earmarked for the second quarter of 2025 in line with joint venture initiatives.
Challenges with Pratt & Whitney GTF engines will continue through 2027, potentially grounding 13 to 14 aircraft in 2026.
Aegean Airlines recorded a 6% increase in passenger numbers to 16.3 million in 2024 and achieved a net profit of EUR129.9 million.
The airline’s order book now consists of 58 aircraft, including 21 A320-200Ns and 33 A321-200NX, with 34 already delivered.
