Wizz Air is planning to launch daily flights from Budapest to Mumbai International by October or November 2025.

Hungary’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Péter Szijjártó, confirmed all necessary permits for the new service have been secured by the airline.

The airline is expected to use its newly acquired long-range A321-200NY(XLR) aircraft for this route.

Discussions regarding a new route from Budapest to Delhi International are currently in progress, under the existing bilateral air services agreement from 1966.

In June 2023, Wizz Air received approvals from Italian, Austrian, and Hungarian aviation authorities for flights to India, further expanding its operational capabilities.
