
A new Guest Mobility Ticket introduced by Salzburg Transport offers overnight guests in Salzburg free transport covering all public transport for their stay.
Issued at check-in, the ticket is easy to use, requiring no additional apps, and offers digital formats for convenience.
A nominal fee will be added to the overnight tax starting at €0.50, dedicated solely to improving public transport.
The initiative aims to reduce traffic congestion, benefiting both visitors and locals with improved transport infrastructure and services.
The environmental impact includes significant reductions in CO₂ emissions, promoting cleaner air quality and enhanced life quality in Salzburg.
Stefan Schnöll, Deputy Governor: shared “The new guest ticket is a historic milestone. Salzburg is leading the way in sustainable tourism mobility, strengthening public transport while offering guests real added value. The enhanced flexibility will encourage visitors to explore the entire province, boosting regional economies. Since the funds are earmarked for public transport improvements, locals will also benefit from better infrastructure and expanded services, increasing public support for tourism.”
