A Travel Sentiment Survey by Click & Go Holidays revealed that 66pc of people have not yet booked their holiday for 2025.
Cost is a major concern, with consumers indicating prices are too high or are waiting for them to fall, leading to a 3% rise in sun holiday prices this year compared to last year.
Spain remains the top destination for Irish holidaymakers, with 2 million expected to travel there in 2023, despite anti-tourism sentiments related to the housing crisis.
The survey found that 60% of parents would take their children out of school to save on holiday prices, indicating ongoing strong demand for travel in 2025.
Paul Hackett, CEO of Click & Go, shared: “We are the highest indexing country in the world in terms of head of population that goes to Spain. I think we know what the weather in Ireland is likely to be, and holidays abroad still reflect really good value for money.”
