Ireland has missed out on a round of fuel stops to be introduced by Air India due to an overflight ban imposed by Pakistan

Instead fuel stops will take place in Vienna and Copenhagen. Since April 23, flights from Delhi to Washington Dulles, Chicago O’Hare, New York JFK, and Toronto Pearson have included Vienna, while flights to New York Newark added Copenhagen as a stop.

Services to San Francisco and Vancouver International remain unaffected as they continue to operate over the Pacific.

Recent tensions arose from an April 22 terrorist attack in Indian-controlled Kashmir, leading to various retaliatory measures by India, including an airspace closure.

The adjustments in flight routings have not increased overall flight times for Air India’s passengers.
