Tony Fernandes’s Capital A is considering a listing on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (HKEX) to reach a wider global investor audience, as revealed in a May 2, 2025, statement.
CEO Tony Fernandes believes a dual listing will allow the company “to tell our story on a global stage and connect with a broader investor base.”
The HKEX listing aims to facilitate access to global investors, particularly in Mainland China, with discussions ongoing and plans for appointing an international investment bank.
Capital A is working to exit its Practice Note 17 (PN17) status on Bursa Malaysia by mid-year, which involves disposing of its aviation assets to AirAsia X Berhad.
Key businesses for Capital A, excluding aviation interests, will include Asia Digital Engineering, Teleport logistics, and the AirAsia Move digital platform.
Tony Fernandes shared: “Discussions are ongoing, and Capital A is close to appointing an international investment bank to advise on the proposed listing structure and timeline. Plans to initiate the formal process are subject to internal assessments and regulatory approvals. The HKEX offers ‘the same opportunities.”
