Aer Lingus owner IAG has announced the order of 53 long-haul aircraft, which consists of 32 Boeing 787-10s for British Airways and 21 Airbus A330-900neos for its other airlines including Aer Lingus and Iberia.

The first-quarter profit exceeded expectations, prompting the order which follows previous purchases made in March, involving six Airbus A350-900s and Boeing 777-9s.

The list prices for the A330-900neo and the 787-10 are estimated at $374 million and $397 million respectively, though discounts are usually negotiated.

British Airways has options to add up to 10 additional Boeing 787s, with purchase rights for 13 more A330-900neos under the agreement with Airbus.
