Etihad Airways has confirmed an order for 28 Boeing 787 and 777X aircraft, to join the fleet from 2028 onwards.

Currently operating around 100 aircraft, including B777-300ERs and Boeing 787 Dreamliners, Etihad also utilises seven Airbus A380s and is receiving A350-1000s.

The airline is finalising a plan to guide its strategy until 2035, with the additional Boeing aircraft playing a key role in this approach.

Qatar Airways recently confirmed an order for up to 210 Boeing widebody aircraft, which includes 130 787 Dreamliners and 30 777-9s.

Antonoaldo Neves, chief executive officer of Etihad Airways, shared, “This commitment reflects our approach of carefully managing our fleet and expanding in line with demand and our long-term network plans.”
