Wizz Air’s English subsidiary has received its first A321-200NY(XLR) on May 20, following delays in delivery previously scheduled for March 2025.

The new aircraft, seating 239 passengers in an all-economy configuration, was transferred from Airbus’ Hamburg Finkenwerder facility to London Luton.

Wizz Air plans to operate the A321XLR on the London Gatwick-Jeddah International route, having initially launched the service with an A321-200NX due to range limitations.

Wizz Air has ordered forty-seven A321XLRs across its operations, making it the fourth-largest customer for this aircraft type.

The A321XLR is already in service with Iberia and Aer Lingus, with Iberia being the original operator and utilizing the aircraft on transatlantic flights.
