Tourism Ireland collaborated with Ireland West Airport Knock this week to promote direct flights from Milan Bergamo to Knock for Italian travel professionals.

Fourteen Irish tourism enterprises engaged with around 60 Italian tour operators and journalists during a B2B workshop and networking event, showcasing local produce from Good Food Ireland.

The strategy aims to support local economies across the island, targeting an average revenue increase of +6.5% per year until 2030 by encouraging visitors to regional airports.

Marcella Ercolini, Tourism Ireland’s Manager Italy, discussed the accessibility of Knock with Ryanair and the attractions along the Wild Atlantic Way.

A similar promotional event is planned in Cologne, Germany, next month to attract attention to Ryanair flights from that city to Knock.
