Air Europa received its first B737-8 aircraft on May 21-22, kicking off a renewal programme for its narrowbody fleet.
The aircraft, EC-OGS, is on lease from AerCap and has a capacity of up to 189 passengers in a single-class cabin.
Scheduled to enter revenue service on June 23, the B737-8 will initially operate flights from Madrid Barajas to Amsterdam Schiphol and Brussels National.
From October 1, the aircraft will also serve the route between Madrid and Paris Orly, with future plans for deployment on short-haul and domestic routes.
Air Europa aims to have a total of thirty B737-8s in its fleet by mid-2027, with three more expected by the end of 2025 and twelve in 2026.
