
European airlines reported a 9.4pc year-on-year increase in passenger demand in April, with a capacity rise of 7.7pc and a load factor of 84.5pc.
Figures form IATA show total demand in April 2025 was 8.0pc higher than the previous year, accompanied by a 6.5pc increase in total capacity.
International demand experienced a notable rise of 10.8pc year-on-year, reaching a historic load factor of 84.1pc for April.
Domestic travel saw a 3.3pc increase, with capacity growing by 3.1pc and a load factor of 82.7pc.
Willie Walsh shared, “April was a positive month for travel. Growth strengthened, especially for international demand which saw record load factors for the month. As we gather in New Delhi, India for the 81st IATA Annual General Meeting and World Air Transport Summit, it is notable that Indian domestic growth is running at over 10pc.”
