A new advanced aerial mobility research lab is planned at Shannon Airport, aimed at creating a testing hub for aviation technologies at the Co Clare facility.
The Shannon Airport Authority DAC has lodged planning permission for constructing a single storey building, including a terminal and office spaces, along with a new hangar apron.
The lab will operate in collaboration with Future Mobility Campus Ireland, a leader in research and innovation in both air and land transportation.
Planned developments will also provide 48 carparking spaces, secure bicycle parking, and other necessary site works and services.
Clare County Council is expected to decide on the planning submission by July 17.
