Sunrise Airways will resume its scheduled domestic flights to and from Port au Prince following a suspension due to gang violence in the capital city.

The airline plans to operate flights to Cap Haitien, Les Cayes, and Jérémie, while seeking additional insurance solutions for coverage related to potential incidents linked to Haiti’s security situation.

The Haitian government has agreed to provide $11m in supplementary coverage as a financial guarantee, which will activate only if necessary to compensate potential victims and for material damages.

Sunrise Airways operates a fleet comprising one BAe Jetstream 32 and four E120s, and the airline has established subsidiaries, including Sunrise Dominicana and the upcoming Sunrise Airways Dominica.
