SAS Scandinavian announces record order for 45 Embraer E195-E2 aircraft

Scandinavian Airlines announced a record order for 45 Embraer E195-E2 aircraft, the largest purchase from a manufacturer since 1996, supporting its fleet renewal strategy.

Deliveries of the new aircraft were revealed at an event in Copenhagen and and are scheduled to begin in late 2027 and will continue over a four-year period with a total order value of approximately US$4 billion excluding purchase rights.

The E195-E2 aircraft are designed to optimise SAS operations, offering improved connectivity across Scandinavia and Europe while reducing emissions and trip costs.

SAS continues to prioritise sustainable aviation, with the E2 family of aircraft tested for 100% sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and capable of operating on blends of up to 50% SAF.

SAS was recently recognised as the world’s most punctual airline, ranking No. 1 globally in on-time performance during April and May 2025 according to Cirium.
