ACI EUROPE reported a +4.5pc increase in passenger traffic for the first half of 2025 compared to the previous year.
International passenger traffic rose by +5.7pc, while domestic traffic showed minimal growth at +0.2pc.
Airports in Slovakia, Poland, and Hungary achieved the highest performance increase, while Sweden and Estonia showed the weakest results.
Major airports saw the slowest growth in passenger volumes, with Istanbul and Rome leading the performance.
Freight traffic remained stable across Europe, up +0.1pc compared to last year.
Olivier Jankovec shared, “The positive performance of passenger traffic since the start of the year reflects the continued and strong resilience of demand in the context of significant supply pressures, operational disruptions, increasing geopolitical and geoeconomic tensions and renewed macro-economic uncertainties.”
