Cathay Group has confirmed seven more purchase rights for the 777X programme, potentially increasing its fleet of 777-9s to 42. Cathay Pacific, along with HK Express, has launched or announced 19 new destinations in 2025.

The group reported an attributable profit of HK$3.65bn in the first half of 2025, consistent with the same period in 2024. Future improvements include new cabin products, flagship lounges, and dining experiences, with a new flat-bed business class product set for 2026.

The airline announced its 2025 interim results, revealing an order for 14 additional Boeing 777-9 aircraft, raising its total commitment to 35 planes.

Patrick Healy chair of Cathay Pacific shared, “Over the past few years, we have embarked on an all-encompassing fleet renewal and expansion plan. This new order brings our total investment to well over HK$100bn. We now fly to more than 100 passenger destinations globally, as we continue to enhance Hong Kong’s connectivity with the world. Cathay Pacific will be introducing brand new cabins and a flat-bed business class product on its existing Airbus A330s in 2026.”
