Eurocontrol’s update for the week reveals a 4pc increase in weekly air traffic in Europe compared to the same week in 2024, with 35,421 daily flights.

ATFM delays have decreased by 20pc compared to 2024, with an average of 9,426 flights delayed, accounting for 27pc of all flights due to restrictions.

France is responsible for 28pc of network delays, attributed to capacity and staffing issues, further exacerbated by adverse weather. Austria contributes to 12pc of delays, primarily due to high demand, weather conditions, and temporary staffing issues. Spain accounts for 11pc of delays, with capacity issues also linked to high demand.
