Southwest Airlines says that it will require plus-size passengers to purchase an extra seat if they do not fit within the armrests.
outhwestIf implemented, the new policy will come into effect on January 27, coinciding with the introduction of assigned seating but the airline that served as a model for the early Ryanair’s transition to low cost operations.
The airline says that if passengers do not buy an extra seat in advance, they must purchase one at the airport. Refunds for extra seating will still be possible but will depend on flight availability.
