Copa Airlines chief executive Pedro Heilbron indicated that the airline might not convert its options for fifteen B737-10s into firm orders.
The airline currently operates a fleet of 107 aircraft, including nine B737-700s, eight B737-8s, fifty-eight B737-800s, and thirty-two B737-9s. While Copa Airlines has considered the smaller B737-7, no specific plans have been made due to a desire to limit aircraft configuration complexity.
Heilbron noted that while the B737-7 could potentially replace the B737-700s in the medium term, there are currently no intentions to add another configuration.
Copa Airlines CEO Pedro Heilbron shared, “It may well be that we stay with the B737-8 and B737-9 combination; that’s yet to be decided. It is a nice aircraft, but we try hard to limit the number of different configurations we have because it adds complexity.”
