Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan has halted overflights by Israeli military aircraft. Commeircial flights remain unaffected. The government imposed a ban on aircraft related to munitions and government flights to Israel.
Fidan accused Israel of creating a humanitarian disaster and contributing to regional instability. El Al Israel Airlines continues to overfly Türkiye en route to Europe despite Fidan’s announcements.
Hakan Fidan shared, “We have completely cut off our trade with Israel. We do not allow Turkish ships to go to Israeli ports. We do not allow their planes to enter our airspace. Israel is not only creating a humanitarian disaster in Gaza but also creating wider regional instability.”
