
European airports experienced a 3.1pc year-on-year increase in passenger traffic for July 2025.
International flights outperformed with a passenger increase of 3.7pc, while domestic traffic remained flat at 0.7pc.
European airport trade body ACI EUROPE has released its preliminary air traffic report indicating Dublin was among the fastest growing airports in its group. Airports in the EU+ area recorded a 2.8 rise, below the continental average, with notable growth in Poland, Slovenia, and Cyprus.
Major airports showed a 2.7pc increase with Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen leading at 14.9pc growth. Medium and small airports outperformed the average, achieving growth rates of 3.9pc and 4.0pc, respectively.
- Majors: Istanbul SAW (+14.9pc), Munich MUC (+5.9pc), Istanbul IST (+4.5pc), Amsterdam AMS (+4pc), Barcelona BCN (+2.9pc).
- Mega airports: Milan MXP (+7.5pc), Dublin DUB (+6.9pc), Paris ORY (+5.5pc), Zurich ZRH (+4.8pc), Copenhagen CPH (+4.5pc).
- Large airports: Krakow KRK (+18.9pc), Warsaw WAW (+12.5pc), Izmir ADB (+11.2pc), Edinburgh EDI (+9.5pc), Tirana TIA (+8.9pc).
- Medium airports: Chișinău RMO (+45pc), Bournemouth BOH (+31.9pc), Trieste TRS (+22.3pc), Astana NQZ (+19pc), Wroclaw WRO (+18.7pc).
- Small airports: Kiruna KRN (+166.4pc), Karlstad KSD (+147.7pc), Bucharest BBU (+134.5pc), Syros Island JSY (+125.5pc), Córdoba ODB (+71pc).
