Sonny Kaushal, director of Airtime Parking Ltd, was sentenced to 32 months in jail for defrauding Heathrow travellers of over €1.5m. Kaushal falsely advertised secure parking with fences, CCTV, and patrols, but vehicles were left in insecure spots like fields and roadsides.
The scam involved premium valet and park-and-ride services, with some cars damaged, ticketed, or keys lost, leading to extra fees. Hillingdon Council’s investigation followed complaints in June 2022, revealing 93pc one-star reviews on Trustpilot.
Kaushal must repay €708,606 in available assets, plus €3,053.13 compensation and €14,319.80 costs, and is disqualified as a director for 10 years.
Judge HHJ Edmunds KC shared: “It has been the defence case that Mr Kaushal is a person both wholly unqualified and wholly incompetent to be involved in the management of a company as well as wholly ignorant of the obligations of a company director.”
IN a written statement Hillingdon Council shared: “Thanks to the relentless work of our trading standards officers and legal team, he has been brought to justice. This strong sentence sends a clear warning: fraudulent businesses will not be tolerated in Hillingdon.”
