IATA submit 14 working papers to ICAO assembly in Montreal

IATA will participate in the 42nd ICAO Assembly in Montreal from 23 September to 3 October 2025, submitting 14 working papers.

Key topics include supporting SAF production, reinforcing CORSIA as the sole economic measure for emissions, and opposing source-based corporate taxation.

IATA seeks global alignment on consumer protection regulations and protection of aviation-critical radio frequency spectrum, particularly the 4.2-4.4GHz band.

Proposals address timely accident reports, GNSS interference mitigation, and realistic aircraft mandate timelines.

IATA supports raising the pilot age limit to 67 for multi-pilot international flights with enhanced medical oversight.

Willie Walsh shared: “IATA will be participating in the ICAO Assembly with safety, sustainability and efficiency at the top of our priority list. The criticality of global standards to global aviation cannot be underestimated. I am optimistic for the outcomes of this Assembly.”
