Kaunas Airport’s €17.7m terminal expansion has been completed, increasing capacity to two million passengers annually, adding 4,400 square metres of space.

New eastern and western wings feature glass facades, expanded baggage claim areas, and additional dining and retail options. The airport can now handle six flights per hour, processing over 800 passengers simultaneously, with automated passport controls and advanced baggage scanners.

A 50pc increase in aircraft parking via the northern apron’s expansion supports growing demand from Ryanair and Wizz Air. The project boosts Kaunas’ tourism and economic growth, with direct Riga flights planned for spring 2026 via Air Baltic.

Arnas Dūmanas shared: “This is more than bricks and mortar; it’s a blueprint for sustainable growth.”

Simonas Bartkus CEO of Lithuanian Airports shared: “We’re not just connecting Kaunas to Europe; we’re catapulting it forward.”
