Sligo County Council has issued a compulsory purchase order for six Holborn Street properties as pat of a major plan to boost tourism in the town.
Acquisition targets the Sligo City Campus, redeveloping brownfield land in the town centre. Plans include a central library, county museum, enterprise space, and residential units.
Development will cluster around works in O’Connell Street works and Queen Maeve Square. The initiative is designed to boost Sligo as a cultural and learning destination.
Sligo County Council shared: “The redevelopment of this area is seen as a unique opportunity to enhance the overall attractiveness of Sligo as a place to live and work and promote the town as a regional and national destination.”
