DAA chief executive Kenny Jacobs focused on operational and strategic matters during last night’s board meeting in Cork.

There was no mention of the tensions between Kenny Jacobs and chair Basil Geoghegan at what sources described as a “professional and calm” meeting.

The leadership crisis was not a topic of discussion at the meeting as a €1m exit package is under negotiation and both sides await the next move.  The board is said to be split 50/50 on the issue of Kenny Jacobs’ leadership;

The 12 members of the board consist of seven ministerial appointments (with one vacancy): Basil Geoghegan (chair), Paula Cogan, Peter Cross, Ger Perdisatt, Marie Joyce, Karen Morton and Risteard Sheridan and four worker-directors: James Kelly, Des Mullally, Mark James Ryan and Denis Smyth, as well as CEO Kenny Jacobs. Sources suggest the board is split 50/50 on the issue of Mr Jacobs future. The chair Basil Geoghegan has the casting vote in the event of a tie.
