The Rathcroghan Visitor Centre has revamped its annual “Origins of Samhain” tour, highlighting the entrance of Oweynagat, and its position in the heroic literarture as Ireland’s Gate to Hell, from 28th October to 7th November 2025.
Tours run Monday to Friday at 12pm and 2pm, costing €18 per person, with booking required.
The tour explores the historical roots of Halloween, focusing on the Samhain festival, but does not enter the cave itself.
In autumn 2025, Hazelrocks Jewellery will host workshops at the Rathcroghan Visitor Centre.
The centre, located in Tulsk, Castlerea, Co. Roscommon, provides a unique cultural experience tied to Ireland’s heritage.
