A man in his 40s faced arrest in England’s West Sussex on 23 September 2025 on suspicion of Computer Misuse Act offences linked to a ransomware attack on Collins Aerospace.
The attack disrupted check-in and boarding systems at Dublin, Cork, London Heathrow, Brussels, and Berlin airports since 20 September 2025.
Collins Aerospace, owned by RTX, confirmed it worked with affected airports to restore functionality, with updates in final stages.
The EU cyber security agency identified the incident as ransomware targeting critical infrastructure.
The suspect released on conditional bail, with the National Crime Agency investigation ongoing.
