The US Federal Aviation Administration has extended Newark Airport’s arrivals and departures limit until 24th October 2026.

The hourly flight limit increased from 68 to 72 operations following discussions with the airport operator and airlines. The extension addresses staffing and equipment shortages at the airport.

Runway 4L/22R is under refurbishment, closed on weekends until the end of 2025. The changes aim to maintain efficient operations at Newark Airport.
