Breeze Airways has revealed plans to target a 400-aircraft fleet. The Utah-based carrier currently operates 50 aircraft, with orders for 90 additional Airbus A220s and options for 120 more,. International target destinations in its plans include Dublin.
The airline focuses on underserved US markets, avoiding direct competition with major carriers like American, Delta, and United. Breeze was recently grantd US flag carrier status, enabling international flights to Cancún, Montego Bay, and Punta Cana starting in 2026.
Saturday utilisation will increase with international routes, addressing a traditionally low-travel day in the US.
The current fleet includes 43 A220-300s, 10 E190s, and two inactive E195s, per ch-aviation data.
David Neeleman shared: “We think there’s enough market for about 400 aeroplanes. And we only have 50. Our goal is to create something that is not akin to an airline because the challenge that Spirit Airlines ran into is that their planes got so big that they had to overlay Delta, United, American.”
