Condé Nast Traveller has drawn up its annual list of the World’s Friendliest Countries with no European country in the top ten:

  • Kenya
  • Barbados
  • Mexico
  • Bhutan
  • Cambodia
  • Vietnam
  • Mauritius
  • Chile

  • Thailand

Bhutan, Mexico, Barbados, and Kenya, ranking fourth to first, prioritise happiness, cultural unity, festive traditions, and exceptional safari hospitality, respectively.

Thailand, tied at eighth, is renowned for its warm hospitality, earning the nickname “Land of Smiles” with attractions like island-hopping and gold-encrusted temples.

Seychelles, also eighth, blends African, European, and Asian influences across 115 islands, offering a welcoming paradise with a small population of 107,000.

Mauritius and Chile, both seventh, provide serene natural beauty and vibrant community-focused cultures, with Mauritius’ lush islands and Chile’s diverse landscapes from Atacama to Patagonia.
