Aer Lingus’ revenue passenger traffic has risen 7.8pc to €12.7m this year so far, according to figures from its parent company IAG.
These figures build on the 10.4pc increase to €6.4m that was recorded in June.
Available seat km had an almost identical rise of 7.7pc. Cargo is down 18pc. This decrease was explained earlier in the year by Aer Lingus CEO Stephen Kavanagh as caused by a shift to more niche, higher value products.
IAG, of which Aer Lingus is a subsidiary, had a group increase of passenger traffic by 7.9pc versus August. Group capacity measured in available seat kilometres rose by 9.0pc.
