Waterford City and County Council has approved a €30m private-funded redevelopment of the airport at a special meeting.
An investor, a US national, is backing the project to secure and transform the airport. Waterford council was told that the deal will ensure the long-term viability through infrastructure enhancements. The identity of the investor remains confidential at this stage.
