Castellón Airport launches four national routes in 2025, including seasonal services to Asturias from December 21 and extensions to Madrid, Seville, and Palma de Mallorca, aiming to exceed 300,000 passengers annually. These comprise nearly a third of its 14 total connections, boosting domestic travel.
Ryanair and Air Nostrum operate the flights, with Asturias linking via 1-hour-15-minute trips twice weekly. The expansions follow a 21pc rise in summer traffic, targeting year-round viability.
Local officials view the routes as key to economic diversification beyond tourism peaks.
