Corsica to subsidise 250,000 inbound seats on 12 routes to boost winter capacity

The collectivity of Corsica is to subsidise 250,000 inbound seats yearly on 12 routes from November 1 over four years. 

Volotea operates nine routes from Bordeaux, Nantes, Strasbourg to Ajaccio, Bastia, Calvi, Figari starting this week.Air Corsica operates Brussels-Charleroi to Ajaccio and Bastia and will fly Rome to Ajaccio from April 1, 2026. The cost is an estimated €500,000 for 2025, rising to €2.5m annually with €100m returns via bed-nights.

The subsidies will target off-season fares inflated 30pc by fuel surcharges and taxes; with an inbound focus designed to boost winter hotels which currently operate at 20pc capacity.
