
Brunei is to recognises Chinese CAAC certificates under BAR 8 Part 21, equating to EASA and FAA recognition, opening the way to COMAC C919 operations.
GallopAir holds letter of intent for 15 C909s and 15 C919s worth €1.8bn signed 2023. Start-up plans include scheduled services in the third quarter 2026 to Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines and Singapore.
COMAC C919 has been in service since 2023 with 1,061 orders, mostly Chinese. It targets 300 deliveries by 2030. Royal Brunei carries 1.2m passengers 2024, up 5pc thanks to Beijing expansion in April.
