ACI Europe reports September 2025 traffic up 3.9pc with Antwerp in lead

ACI EUROPE reports that European airport passenger traffic rose 3.6pc versus 2024. Quarterly 2025 overall growth reached 3.9pc. 

The non-EU+ markets grew 8.3pc; EU+ markets 2.7pc. Freight volumes were up 4.3pc and 17.6pc above 2019. Small airports under 1m passengers grew 7.8pc.

Olivier Jankovec shared “September once again confirmed the overall resilience of passenger traffic.”

The airports that reported the most dynamic growth in passenger traffic in September 2025 versus September 2024 are as follows:

  • Majors: Istanbul SAW (+28.1pc), Munich MUC (+6.7pc), Istanbul IST (+5.0pc), Barcelona BCN (+4.3pc), Rome FCO (+2.4pc). 
  • Mega airports: Copenhagen CPH (+9.5pc), Athens ATH (+5.5pc), Milan MXP (+4.7pc), Antalya AYT (+4.2pc), Dublin DUB (+3.7pc).  
  • Large airports: Tel Aviv TLV (+32.2pc), Ankara ESB (+18.5pc), Izmir ADB (+18.0pc), Krakow KRK (+16.8pc), Warsaw WAW (+12.3pc). 
  • Medium airports: Chișinău RMO (+45.5pc), Wroclaw WRO (+25.1pc), Tivat TIV (+24.2pc), Bournemouth BOH (+21.5pc), Trieste TRS (+20.0pc). 
  • Small airports: Antwerp ANR (+2209.5pc), Hatay HTY (+158.6pc), Bucharest BBU (+136.7pc), Ordu–Giresun OGU (+128.4pc), Ağrı AJI (+103.1pc).
