Loganair has wet-leased an ATR72-500 from DAT (Denmark) to cover routes in Scotland after moving an in-house ATR72-600 to Jersey following the takeover of routes from bankrupt Blue Islands.
The aircraft ferried from Copenhagen Kastrup to Aberdeen Dyce on 17 November and began operating on behalf of Loganair the next day.
The wet-lease connected Aberdeen, Dublin International, and Sumburgh (Shetland) over three weeks and allowed Loganair to deploy its ATR72-600 on routes from Jersey to Guernsey, Southampton, and Exeter.
The Channel Islands local government awarded Loganair €1.77m to assume the services after Blue Islands stopped operations on 14 November.
Loganair’s fleet comprised ten ATR72-600s among other types, with one under maintenance at Sofia and the remaining eight continuing scheduled services out of Scottish bases and Isle of Man.
