The US Federal Aviation Administration is forecasting the busiest Thanksgiving travel period in 15 years on 25 November 2025, with over 360,000 flights scheduled nationwide and Tuesday marking the peak at more than 52,000 operations.

FAA Administrator Bryan Bedford praised the resilience of air traffic controllers amid the surge, urging passengers to plan ahead, pack safely, and practise civility as promoted by the Department of Transportation.

Updated resources on the FAA’s Holiday Travel page offer guidance to mitigate delays, while enforcement of Real ID requirements looms, advising travellers to arrive early and follow crew instructions for smoother journeys.
