Major Chinese carriers have slashed hundreds of December flights to Japan following a government travel advisory amid diplomatic strains. 

Airlines like Air China and China Eastern reduced services by up to 30pc, citing safety concerns and low bookings. The move has rippled through Asia-Pacific tourism, forcing travellers to seek alternatives via Seoul or Hong Kong hubs.
