It has emerged that the Anguilla government signed a confidential agreement to purchase empty seats on AnguillAir flights.

The deal covered routes from Anguilla to Boston and New York Newark. AnguillAir operated as a virtual division of BermudAir using Embraer E190 aircraft. Authorities anticipated returns through increased tourism arrivals to the island.

Flights were launched in December 2025 to enhance connectivity from US East Coast gateways.
